The Auburn Tigers stunned everyone tonight by knocking off the Alabama Crimson Tide and punching their ticket to the SEC Championship Game next week against either the Missouri Tigers or the South Carolina Gamecocks.

With this, Alabama’s championship run will end and a new one will begin for someone.

Now, we know that if the Florida State Seminoles beat the Duke Blue Devils next week in the ACC Championship Game in Charlotte, they’ll definitely be in as the number-one team in the country.

But now, we have a problem brewing that we all should have seen coming.

Most people throughout the season have been heavily critical of the schedule of the Ohio State Buckeyes, who will more than likely be the new number two team in the country.

Because of the criticism, there will still be a lot of people who believe that a one-loss SEC team should be able to play for the national title over the undefeated Buckeyes.

Of course, Auburn AD Jay Jacobs is one of those people, which is another thing we all should have seen coming:

Okay, I can understand the criticism, but a “disservice to the nation” is stretching it a bit far. Also, it’s stretching it to compare this Auburn team to the ’04 team that got left out, seeing as Jason Campbell, Cadillac Williams and Ronnie Brown were undefeated, while this team has lost a game on the year.
