The Buffalo Bills are playing their annual game in Toronto this week, and when you come to Toronto you have to talk about the crack smoking mayor, Rob Ford. Bills head coach Doug Marrone has never heard of the infamous mayor.

“I have no idea who he is,” Marrone said, according to the Toronto Sun.

And after someone explained who Ford is.

“Really? Well I hope that he can find a way to better himself,” Marrone said. “Last time I checked that’s illegal, so hopefully he can find a way to help himself.”

It isn’t all that surprising that a head coach of an NFL team isn’t up to date with all the latest stories in news outside of the sport and in pop culture necessarily. They’re already dedicating hundreds of hours to film study and game planning. They don’t have time to catch what Jon Stewart is saying about Rob Ford now on The Daily Show.

“I think it’s very difficult because like I said before, if I want to escape football, I’ll escape it in a novel,” he said. “I call it a novel, my wife calls it fiction. I’ll do that, but honestly we really don’t have a lot of time for anything else.”
