Barring an unexpected setback, it’s expected that Knowshon Moreno will draw the start at running back for the Denver Broncos in their pivatol AFC West showdown against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.

That said, it’s possible that Moreno will be used a little less than normal as he recovers from a deep bone bruise which lead to a walking boot and a cast earlier in the week.

Speculation leading up to Friday was that Moreno may not play against Kansas City, but after a solid practice where he was reportedly ‘moving better’ the Broncos gave Moreno the probable tag.

Regardless, it appears that backup Montee Ball – who was expected to start if Moreno couldn’t go – will get a few extra sniffs in the inner-division contest to ‘spell’ Moreno which could also include some touches for Ronnie Hillman as well:

"Ball is again expected to spell Moreno and it’s possible second-year back Ronnie Hillman will play some for the first time since he fumbled at the Indianapolis’ 2-yard line on Oct. 20."

Denver will likely see what Moreno can give them and if he struggles, Ball could find himself in line for a few more carries.
