Giants at Redskins: RG III gets lit up trying to block downfield (GIF)
By Jack Crosby
Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III had been at the forefront of a lot of criticism this season. He hasn’t had nearly the season that he did a year ago when they went to the playoffs, and they have accumulated just three wins at the moment. They’re trying to get their fourth tonight against the division rival New York Giants.
Griffin and the Skins got off to a pretty good start as they scored on the first drive of the game to take a 7-0 lead. It was a good sign seeing RG III lead a 70+ yard drive to start the game. Some have questioned his lack of effort this year, so he has to do whatever it takes to prove everyone wrong.
For instance, in the first quarter, Griffin showed a little extra effort trying to block downfield. While the effort was nice, he paid for it by getting absolutely lit up:
With the injury problems to begin with, I’m not sure it’s a good idea for Griffin to be putting himself into this situation, but still, good effort, Robert.
