Multiple outlets are reporting that the Miami Redhawks have hired a new head coachNotre Dame offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Chuck Martin.  Martin has experience in Ohio as he started his college coaching career at Wittenberg in Springfield, Ohio.  He also has experience as a head coach from his time at Grand Valley State, leading them to substantial success in the GLIAC.

Martin is somewhat of a unique candidate in that he was a defensive coordinator for Kelly at Grand Valley State before becoming the head coach there, having success coaching that side of the ball.  And he has had success at Notre Dame coaching the offensive side of the ball starting in 2012.  He had initially been hired to help with the defensive side of the ball as a defensive backs coach in 2010 and 2011.

Martin has done a little bit of everything, but has experience as a head coach as well, which could help get the Redhawks back on top of the MAC.  The MAC is such a fluid conference that a team can get hot and win quickly, which is what Miami (OH) is hoping for after some recent struggles.  This past season, Miami finished with an 0-12 season after going 4-8 the previous year.
