The Seattle Mariners reportedly have Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp atop their ‘wish list’, a list that also includes Colorado Rockies outfielder Dexter Fowler.

"Mariners are still looking for outfield bats via trade, sources say. Matt Kemp and Dexter Fowler are on their wish list. @FOXSports1"

I of course, have plenty of expensive and interesting things atop my Amazon wish list as well – but that doesn’t mean I’m going to get them.

In all seriousness though, both Kemp and Fowler have been rumored to be available, Fowler to a much larger extent. We don’t really know if the Dodgers just have an open ear to potential Matt Kemp trades or if they’re actually attempting to move him, like the Rockies who are actively open to trading Fowler.

Kemp’s big contract would be welcoming to move for the Dodgers, but if anybody can afford such a deal, it’s Los Angeles. Add in the fact he’s an MVP candidate when healthy, they’d likely request quite the return – a return Seattle would be silly to provide. As for Fowler, the speedy outfielder is only under team control for the next two seasons and will be due for a hefty payday after that. He’s yet to live up to the promise the Rockies expected from him, so while he’ll come at a much cheaper price than Kemp, it certainly won’t be a bargain.
