The question of who will be the first head coach fired in a season is always an interesting one.

As is usually the case, there are several interesting options this year.

According to Bovada, first-year Brooklyn Nets’ head coach Jason Kidd is the favorite to be the first coach to lose his job. After acquiring big man Kevin Garnett, swingman Paul Pierce and guard Jason Terry from the Boston Celtics, the Nets’ expectations went through the roof. They tabbed Kidd, who actually played in the NBA with the New York Knicks last season, to be their next coach. The Nets are off to a 5-13 start and Kidd has been involved in several different incidents. He received a fine for intentionally spilling a drink when his team was out of times and Tuesday, he “reassigned” assistant coach Lawerence Frank.

Speaking of the Knicks, their head coach, Mike Woodson is next on the list. He’s followed by the coach of the NBA’s other insanely high-pressured gig, the Los Angeles Lakers, Mike Brown.
