The Seattle Seahawks are playing the San Francisco 49ers next week, and the 49ers are looking to make a statement. The last time they played the Seahawks gave the 49ers a solid 29-3 beat down in a statement of their own. The Seahawks are even coming off an impressive and dominating 34-7 win over the New Orleans Saints.

Beating the Seahawks would be a statement.

“Any time you play a team and you lose, the next opportunity you get to play them again, it’s definitely a statement game,” Davis said Tuesday, via Jimmy Durkin of the San Jose Mercury News.

“We have to go into this game playing hard, playing fast,” Davis said.  “We want to make some noise right away.  That’s going to be the challenge for us.”

There has been a bit of a rivalry between these two teams as they have emerged amongst the best in the NFC.

“It might be the most intense game this season, because those guys don’t like us, and we don’t like them,” Davis said.
