To say it’s been a rough night for the Houston Texans is sort of understating things. They’ve gone from a Super Bowl contender to a team in danger of being swept by the Jacksonville Jaguars, something that will happen to no other team in the AFC South. It’s actually something we didn’t expect would happen at all yet the Texans are doing their best to make it happen.

One of the reasons for the Texans struggles has been the play of Case Keenum who despite a few good throw tonight, has been pretty awful for Houston under center. One of his good throws came right after the Jaguars scored on a trick play, as Keenum connected with DeAndre Hopkins for a huge gain that reminded us that Houston wasn’t always terrible.

Shortly after this throw though, Keenum ran out of the borrowed time he’d been living on and was benched in favor of Matt Schaub. That’s how bad things are going for Houston, they had to change quarterbacks against the Jaguars and an injury wasn’t the reason.

Keenum once looked like the answer for the Texans at quarterback but the mirage was clearly short lived.
