For the first time since suffering a broken collarbone, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers took the field in pads, this according to Rob Demovsky:

"Rodgers in pads for 1st time since he broke his collarbone. Flynn still appeared to take starter reps."

This is obviously a good sign for both Rodgers and the Packers as the two attempt to figure out a potential return date, assuming there is one.

Rodgers himself has all but said he’s good to go, suggesting on Thanksgiving Day that he was ‘hopeful’ he’d be on the field come the Packers Week 14 matchup. Head coach Mike McCarthy wasn’t nearly as sure as Rodgers though and with good reason as doctors have suggested Rodgers could suffer a more severe injury if his broken collarbone isn’t completely healed.

Regardless, the fact that he was back at practice in pads can only be seen as a positive step.

His status still remains in the air for Green Bay’s Week 14 game against the Atlanta Falcons.

Matt Flynn will likely draw the start if Rodgers is not cleared.
