As an NFL player, one would think you’d be able to secure dinner reservations with relative ease. But apparently not, at least not for Seattle Seahawks defensive lineman Michael Bennett who was denied dinner reservations at a swanky Seattle eatery recently.

Bennett, obviously miffed that he couldn’t get a table (this after his epic return against the Saints on Monday night, never the less) decided to put his thinking cap on and figured out a way he could get a table. Pretend to be star quarterback, Russell Wilson.

Bennett said he hung up and waited a few minutes before calling back in, pretending to be Wilson:

"“I called them back a few minutes later,” he said. “I said, ‘Hey, this is Russell Wilson. I’ll be attending your restaurant today. Do you have any tables?’“And she was like, ‘Yes! We can make a table for you! You were 22-for-30 the other night, 130 quarterback rating!’ She knew every stat.”"

When Bennett, along with his wife and children arrived at the restaurant, it was pretty obvious that the lineman wasn’t Wilson, though the server reportedly had a good laugh as did Bennett (and I’m going to assume Wilson, when he heard the story).
