The 2-10 Houston Texans fell behind early on the road against the Jacksonville Jaguars on this week’s edition of Thursday Night Football on the NFL Network. It appeared right off the bat that this already miserable season for the Texans may only get worse.
However, Case Keenum had the ball put in his hands after his team fell behind, and he delivered in a big way.
In the second quarter, Keenum engineered a 12-play, 91 yard drive in about seven minutes to finally get his team on the board. After navigating them all the way down the field, Keenum capped off the drive with his arm by hitting Keshawn Martin with an eight-yard touchdown pass to finally get his team some points:
It really looked in the beginning like things may be getting progressively worse for the Texans and their season, but Keenum is showing once again why this coaching staff puts so much stock into him.
Even if its against Jacksonville, it’s still a great sign to see that Keenum has a strong hold of the reins of this offense when they’re in trouble.
