Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson has previously said that he thinks about what it would be like to play football in Texas, specifically in Dallas which is right near where he grew up. Peterson and Dallas have been linked in the past, but Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones isn’t ready to talk about any potential trades in the future.

Jones understands that talking about Peterson publicly could lead to tampering charges, so he is going to avoid discussing the matter for now.

“We don’t want to get into hypotheticals in any way,” Jones said on his Friday appearance with 105.3 The Fan Dallas/Fort Worth.  “As a matter of fact that’s called ‘get busted’ in the NFL to be talking about somebody’s else player.”

Of course, once the offseason begins, anything is fair game.

There is always the chance that Jones could call up the Vikings to see if they could create a blockbuster deal to bring the best running back in the game to Big D, but we wouldn’t be holding our breath.

Peterson would demand more money than the Cowboys could offer, so they would only be able to get him if he would agree to sign a “hometown discount.”

Still, that won’t stop Cowboys fans from dreaming that one day Peterson will take the field with a star on his helmet, so get ready for plenty of rumors, speculation and hope over the next few months.
