Cowboys owner Jerry Jones won’t talk about Adrian Peterson

Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson has previously said that he thinks about what it would be like to play football in Texas, specifically in Dallas which is right near where he grew up. Peterson and Dallas have been linked in the past, but Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones isn’t ready to talk about any potential trades in the future.

Jones understands that talking about Peterson publicly could lead to tampering charges, so he is going to avoid discussing the matter for now.

“We don’t want to get into hypotheticals in any way,” Jones said on his Friday appearance with 105.3 The Fan Dallas/Fort Worth.  “As a matter of fact that’s called ‘get busted’ in the NFL to be talking about somebody’s else player.”

Of course, once the offseason begins, anything is fair game.

There is always the chance that Jones could call up the Vikings to see if they could create a blockbuster deal to bring the best running back in the game to Big D, but we wouldn’t be holding our breath.

Peterson would demand more money than the Cowboys could offer, so they would only be able to get him if he would agree to sign a “hometown discount.”

Still, that won’t stop Cowboys fans from dreaming that one day Peterson will take the field with a star on his helmet, so get ready for plenty of rumors, speculation and hope over the next few months.

To many personnel and salary cap issues to even consider AP. Don’t even fantasize. It would ruin this team even further.

Oh, Lord. Just shoot me now!

Jones is going to do what? Does he ever look at the engine or does he just buy from the paint job?

You could put Bronco Nugurski or The Galloping Ghost in the Cowboys backfield and they won’t go anywhere either until Jones gets it through is enormously thick skull that he needs a better offensive line.

Peterson’s gotta cost a lot — money, Cowboys players and future draft picks. Is Peterson really worth all that money rather than Jones spending it wisely and building several key positions back from the ground up, … like the entire defensive line.

Jones, by next season, will have run off the entire starting defensive line. Still, no credible Safety or Safeties. Offensive guards on both sides of Frederick need upgrading with solid talent. At least one new Linebacker. Maybe a new Corner if Claiborne doesn’t change his lousy playing ways.

The Needs list is endless. Also, what’s Jones going to do with Murray, Randle, Dunbar, Tanner, Harris plus the new Fullback, Clutts, and new running back he just signed?

I’m glad Jones has built his new stadium. Now we’ve got someplace big enough to hold a Cowboys Players Reunion. That’s how many players have revolved through the gates on this team.

This stuff needs to stop and a core foundation needs to be cemented into place. I can assure you, that foundation doesn’t start with the acquisition of Adrian Peterson!

This team will have 10 players equaling 93 million in 2014 and now you want to add another player like AP. I hope he can block and open up holes too, lol

This is stupid why even talk about it
