The New York football Giants are fighting to stay alive in the NFC East as they are in second place behind both the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles.

This Sunday they’re going up against a San Diego Chargers offense that can take secondaries apart with their passing game led by starting quarterback Phillip Rivers. With the Giants focused on containing Rivers, they’ll have to do so without their best defensive player, Jason Pierre-Paul.

Pierre-Paul has officially been ruled out for Sunday’s game. That’s some great news for San Diego’s passing offense, bad news for New York’s playoff chances.

Running back Brandon Jacobs hasn’t been much of an impact player in his second stint with the Giants, but he’s still a piece this team needs. He’s listed as doubtful for Week 14 because of a knee issue.

Andre Brown will pick up the workload with Peyton Hillis backing him up.
