49ers long snapper’s centenarian grandma is a boss

Well, this happened, and it’s quite possibly the greatest Tweet ever produced by an NFL long snapper — I wonder if anyone has a stat for that?  Definitely need to check more long snapper accounts after seeing this.

San Francisco 49ers’ long snapper Kevin McDermott posted this picture of his 100-year old grandma with a stogie and holding a bottle of Fireball a couple days ago.

Grandma McDermott does indeed look like a boss.  Well played.  May we all be that full of pep if and when we reach a century on Earth.

Apparently December 5th was her birthday and she was doing a bit of celebrating, or so the photo suggests.  At the very least she is a fantastic sport.

Happy belated birthday to Grandma Opal, and thank you for the legendary photo.

As for her grandson’s 49ers, they take on the heated division rival Seahawks this Sunday.  San Francisco has lost the past two contests — both at CenturyLink Field in Seattle — by a combined score of 71-16.  This time the two square off in the second to last game at Candlestick Park in San Francisco, which is also the last place the 49ers beat the Seahawks — 13-8 — October 18th, 2012.

No word if grandma Opal will be in attendance to cheer on the 49ers as of yet.
