There’s no shame in the game of Carmelo Anthony, Kobe Bryant or Dwyane Wade who have all at one time attempted to lure free agents to play with them (or have at least been rumored to have done so).

That won’t be the case for Derrick Rose though, who recently suggested he doesn’t feel the need to do that.

"“I don’t think so,’’ Rose said when asked if he would start looking for help from another superstar to lighten his load.“I don’t think I will ever recruit.‘‘If you’re a hooper and you know as a basketball player if you can play with someone, I don’t think it’s a problem with just coming to a team. . . . I’ll play with anyone. And I think I can play with anyone. But I’ll never recruit.’’"

It’s not exactly new news that Rose suggested he wouldn’t attempt to bring free agents to the Windy City, though, it is a bit shocking he continues to maintain the stance.

I certainly admire his views on the subject, but unfortunately ‘power’ teams have become all the rage in the NBA – though in fairness, only the Heat have shown that to work in recent years, likely due to the fact they employ the best player in the league.
