It is clear that fans in the SEC grew up watching Tim Tebow throw a football. During halftime of the exciting SEC Championship game between the Auburn Tigers and Missouri Tigers, Dr. Pepper held a contest that rewarded the winner with a $100,000 scholarship.

All you needed to do to win the contest was throw a football through a Dr. Pepper can.

Unfortunately for the football purists, it was a contest filled with some horrendous throwing technique. Two young students, Brooks and Lindsay, competed in the contest. The first round ended in a tie, which led us to a tie-breaker round.

Twitter was clearly behind Lindsay, but Brooks came away with the win despite this technique:

If you throw the football like a basketball, you should be instantly disqualified. This isn’t pop-a-shot, folks, it is a competition centered around throwing a football.

In all seriousness, though, congratulations to Brooks for earning a huge scholarship that will hopefully change his life.
