Today’s game between the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks was truly a game of the week. No wonder why they had Joe Buck and Troy Aikman calling the action from the booth.

It wasn’t as high of a scoring game that I thought it would be, but it was still full of hard hits and defensive battles. Each quarterback was hit and hit harder and yes, words were exchanged between players through out the game.

Seattle had the chance to lock up the NFC West with a victory over the San Francisco 49ers today, but failed to do so. The Seahawks were able to take the lead late in the game but left a decent amount of time on the game clock as the 49ers took over.

Kaepernick and the 49ers got the ball back on their own 20 with six minutes left in the game. Running back Frank Gore broke free for a huge 51 yard gain which set them up for a go ahead field goal with around 30 seconds left.

The Seahawks got the ball back and tried to get themselves into field goal range or a game winning touchdown but failed to do so.

Second year quarterback Russell Wilson stepped up into the pocket after escaping pressure and instead of running for it, he put all he had into the pass and launched it down field. His intended target was wide receiver Jermaine Kearse, but found San Francisco 49ers corner back Eric Wright who sealed the game.
