It was a snowy and sloppy day in the NFL today but conditions are ideal inside of the Mercedes-Benz Superdome tonight for the game of the week featuring the Carolina Panthers and New Orleans Saints. The game has a lot riding on it as the lead in the NFC South is up for grabs to the winner. Carolina has been streaking behind the excellent play of Cam Newton and their success relies on his leadership of the offense.

Rob Ryan and the New Orleans Saints are looking to disrupt the groove Newton has been in and one way to do that it to hit him right in his mouth. That’s what’s happened early in the game as the Saints defense got to Newton early and are looking to continue that throughout the night.

Newton has been aided heavily by the Panthers defense but if the Saints don’t want to fall behind, they’re going to have to do something they couldn’t do last week against the Seahawks and that’s hit the quarterback.

So far, the success at that has come early but will it be consistent? Saints fans certainly hope so.
