Dec 8, 2013; Foxborough, MA, USA; New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski (87) is tackled by Cleveland Browns strong safety T.J. Ward (43) and inside linebacker D

After missing the first half of the season, Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski will miss the rest of the year after blowing out his knee in yesterday’s game against the Cleveland Browns. He’s out the rest of the year, so its time for a new plan if your fantasy football team is in the playoffs.

If you’re a Gronk owner, you should be at least somewhat prepared for this. When he missed all his time early this season, you should have drafted a second option, but in case you didn’t or you jettisoned your backup plan after Gronk’s bye, there are five really nice options on the waiver wire in most leagues who can step in and give you production for the next few weeks even though it won’t be at the elite level of Gronk.

All five of the following options are available in at least half of ESPN leagues as of Monday morning. Get your your claims in, and good luck as you try to rise above this critical injury.
