Mike Ditka spits his gum out on Monday Night Football (GIF)

As the Dallas Cowboys prepare to take on the Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football, everyone is preparing to celebrate and honor Mike Ditka. As two of his former teams play, Ditka will have his jersey retired.
“The jersey retirement means a lot. Believe me, it’s a great honor,” Ditka said, via ESPN Dallas. “But if it didn’t happen, I’d still feel very good about my life as a football player and coach. It’s been a hell of a run. The train is slowing down, but I’m glad to still be on it.”
“Tom Landry is the reason I went into coaching and other than Coach Halas, is the reason I am where I am today, no question,” Ditka said. “They were two of the most important people in my life. They both hired me twice and they really changed my life.”
He was visiting the desk of the Monday night countdown crew, when he decided that he wanted to get rid of his gum. He spit it into his hand and then threw it on the ground. Clearly he thought the cameras were zoomed in on someone else and not showing everyone sitting at the desk.
