Mike Shanahan remains noncommittal about starting Robert Griffin in Week 15
By Bryan Rose
Washington Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan might might be dealing with a third-degree burn considering the heat coming off his seat, a seat which could soon be vacated if the Redskins ownership has their way.
Reports have leaked suggesting the team is looking for ways to fire Shananigan without having to pay him his hefty salary and now the somewhat arrogant head coach is refusing to commit to a quarterback.
Shanahan suggested after the Redskins blowout on Sunday that he would not commit to a quarterback for Week 15 and continued to run with the same sentiment on Monday morning, though this time suggesting Robert Griffin‘s ‘health’ could be a factor as to why the Redskins could shut their starter down:
"Shanahan on possibly shelving RG3: “If he did get injured, I’d be very disappointed if he wasn’t there in the offseason.” …This is deep."
You may need to read that quote a few times to fully understand it, but sounds like Shanahan could be attempting to give himself reason to start Kirk Cousins – or at least make a subtle threat to do so.
