Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson suffered an injury during the team’s snowy Week 14 match up against the Baltimore Ravens, which left his availability for the remainder of the season in jeopardy.

On Monday, we learned that Peterson avoided the dreaded Lisfranc injury, but he is still unlikely to play for the Vikings in Week 15 against the Philadelphia Eagles.

The good news is that Peterson is expected to avoid surgery, but he could still miss the remainder of the season.

From Ben Goessling of ESPN:

We will learn more about Peterson’s status as the week goes on and we get to see his progress, but for now he is not expected to suit up.

If there is any concern about re-injuring his foot by rushing back to the field, it would be wise for the team to shut him down for the rest of the year.

For fantasy football owners that were relying on Peterson to carry them to a league championship, it is time to scoop up Toby Gerhart and hope that he can be the workhorse you need.
