The Baltimore Orioles sort of fell from grace last season when they failed to make the playoffs after making a miraculous run in 2012. This offseason is being spent trying to get the team back into contention and a move that is being looked at very hard is adding closer Grant Balfour to the bullpen. According to reporter Brittany Ghiroli, the Orioles have an offer on the table for Balfour and the ball is in his court as to whether he wants to accept the deal or hold out for another.

So it’s starting to sound like Balfour will be off the market pretty soon and will be calling Baltimore his new home. This is bad news of the teams who were in the running to get him but Balfour is a pretty good fit with the Orioles who may move him around in the bullpen or keep him at closer. The options are there in Baltimore because it appears that Balfour will indeed be there for the decisions to be made.
