The Chicago Bears defense needs as much help as they can get this week, but it won’t be coming from veteran linebacker Lance Briggs.

Briggs is coming off a fracture shoulder that he sustained earlier in the year and was supposed to be out anywhere between five to six weeks. This will be the seventh week that Briggs has missed due to this injury. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great idea that he’s taking an extra week to sit out but this team desperately needs him on the field.

Lance was flying all over the field and making plays before he injured his shoulder. Now it’s like the linebackers on the field are the ones playing with only one good arm.

Now that Briggs is targeting Week 16 for his return, the Bears really need to pick up the win in Cleveland on Sunday.

A win against the Browns would be huge and keep them alive long enough for Briggs to be able to help out this defense as they prepare for the Philadelphia Eagles next Sunday.
