Brandon Marshall cares not for your fashion restrictions.

According to Darin Gantt of Pro Football Talk, Marshall has been fined $15,000 by the NFL for wearing orange shoes during Chicago’s Monday night victory over the Dallas Cowboys. In addition, Gantt reports that this is “at least” his 3rd fine for similar violations, making it painfully clear that Marshall has given little to no consideration for the NFL’s uniform code.

Frankly, the NFL’s dress code is something that continues to baffle many people (myself included), and there is certainly a group of financially well-endowed players that have every means to ignore the rules entirely. Marshall will earn an estimated $9.1 million for the 2013 campaign, and if this is as big as the fines will get, I think it’s safe to think that he’ll continue to dress as he chooses.

On the season, Marshall has 84 catches for 1,090 yards and 9 touchdowns, and at the moment, there is a real argument that he forms one half (along with Alshon Jeffery) of the best wide receiving duo in football. The moral of the story?

Brandon Marshall is going to do what Brandon Marshall wants to do.
