Dallas Cowboys linebacker Sean Lee made his highly anticipated return to the line up on Monday Night Football against the Chicago Bears, but his return did not go as planned. The Cowboys gave up an embarrassing 45-points to the Josh McCown led Bears and Lee suffered a neck injury.

Lee was hoping that he would be able to play through the pain in his neck, but it looks like he has yet to be cleared and Adam Schefter of ESPN had details on Lee’s injury, which is a sprained knee ligament.

Schefter wrote:

Lee had initially believed that he had just suffered a neck stinger during the game, but it is obviously much more severe than he had initially imagined.

Lee has not even been able to practice this week as he waits for clearance, so all signs point towards the team entering this weekend’s game against the Green Bay Packers without their best defender in the line up once again.
