The NFL Draft is a few months away but a majority of the teams in the league are already looking towards the event to make sure they aren’t in the same position right now when next year rolls around. But for some NFL scouts, it’s not only this year’s NFL Draft that they are looking at, it’s next year’ draft class as well.

According to NFL.com reporter Albert Breer, scouts are already looking at and discussing Heisman Trophy favorite Jameis Winston despite the fact he’s not draft eligible this year and can’t declare until next season.

"“He’s a big athlete,” one AFC college scouting director said. “He’s erratic at times with his arm and inconsistent reading defenses. He’ll make bad decisions and that big receiver, (Kelvin) Benjamin, bails him out of trouble. But on the positive side, he’s very gifted, he has great size and strength. The energy he runs the offense with makes the offense run, and he’s got very talented players around him.”"

This isn’t surprising information as Winston is being deemed one of the finest college football athletes we’ve seen in years. He has all the momentum that Tim Tebow and Johnny Manziel have had in the past but possesses NFL strength and size. He has also displayed guts and smarts on the field at Florida State and he’s a name most teams will be watching next season.

He’s not coming out this year but Winston is already being looked at as a No. 1 overall pick in 2015 and scouts are clearly not waiting to take him as seriously as they are.
