The biggest story of the NFL this week remains the benching of Robert Griffin III in Washington and we continue to learn more about the weird situation. Mike Shanahan apparently made the decision to bench RGIII with Daniel Snyder’s blessing which only scratches there surface of how bizarre this whole thing is.

But while we heard RGIII speak earlier this week about being benched for the rest of the regular season, ProFootball.com is reporting more about the quarterback’s feelings on the matter. Contrary to the villainous picture being painted of a sulking RGIII, the second-year quarterback is accepting his role as the inactive quarterback on the roster and isn’t upset about the decision.

PFT.com’s report comes on the heels of an NFL Network report that Griffin III was “extremely angry” over being benched. This makes sense since RGIII is the franchise quarterback and is now benched, but PFT reports that none of what NFL Network reported was actually true. A source close to the Redskins situation is saying that RGIII isn’t angry but is instead disappointed in himself over the benching.

"“Where they got that I don’t know. No competitor would be happy but to say he’s angry makes for good TV, I guess. … He feels like he let his teammates down and he wanted to finish the season with them. Now he will just do it from the sideline and through practices.”"

This just shows that no one really knows what is going on in Washington as two separate reports only highlight the dysfunction going on in the locker room.
