The Pro Bowl teams will be drafted in a few weeks time and now is when teams are starting to kick off campaigns to get their players noticed. Obviously guys like Adrian Peterson, Russell Wilson and Ndamukong Suh don’t need to campaign for spots, but teams who’s season already over are using this time of year to try and stir up some interest within their fan bases.

Look no further than the St. Louis Rams for the blueprint to glossing over a crappy year with a clever Pro Bowl campaign. It’s comical on a number of levels, but the Rams have started a Pro Bowl campaign to get their punter Johnny Hekker to Hawaii and they’ve printed up some hilarious T-shirts to get the movement going.

If we all can stop laughing like Beavis and Butthead at the “lei’d” pun that highlights the shirt, the part that will really stir the pot is the section that calls the Rams punter “The Real Johnny Football”.

Obviously, no one is trying to say that Johnny Hekker is more valuable than Johnny Manziel, although time will only tell. The best part about this whole campaign, that we’re totally missing thanks to the puns and cheap shots, is that the Rams believe their best player this year has been their punter which really says a lot more than any T-shirt ever could.
