It’s hard enough to lose on a near weekly basis, but to do so with needless drama between your head coach and star quarterback? It makes an already awful situation absolutely woeful, which is why the vast majority of Redskins players agree with the decision to bench Griffin – this according to Mike Freeman:

"Washington player in text to me: “95 percent of the players agree with decision to go to Cousins.”"

It’s an understandable stance, given the situation surrounding Washington.

First off, the guys in the locker room want to win. They weren’t doing that with Griffin under center. Blame whomever you want, but the wins weren’t coming – fault of Griffin or not. Secondly, they’re likely tired of the ongoing battle between the two sides. Every week was seemingly filled with uncertainty and dramatics.

By no stretch is the text a scientific poll on how players around RGIII feel about him or his ability moving forward, but I’m sure Griffin’s teammates would like to play out the final few weeks without constant bickering and would like a healthy Griffin returning to the startling lineup next season.
