Rockets at Kings final score: Sacramento cruises 106-91
Rudy Gay had 25 points (on 10-of-20 shooting), five rebounds, four assists and four steals in his first home game as a Sacramento King, helping the Kings roll past the Houston Rockets 106-91 Sunday evening.
DeMarcus Cousins added 21 points, 10 rebounds and five assists while Isiah Thomas had 19 points and eight assists.
James Harden scored 25 points, Chandler Parsons had 19 points, seven rebounds and five assists and Dwight Howard scored 13 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and blocked three shots for the Rockets.
Harden turned his ankle in the third quarter and the Kings, who were already outplaying the Rockets, completely took over the game from there. Harden responded by shooting free throws on one leg and returned to the game, but was obviously having problems. Jeremy Lin sat out with back spasms while Terrence Jones was limited to just 15 minutes with what the Rockets called “flu-like symptoms.”
Derrick Williams, another recent Kings’ acquisition, had 11 points and six rebounds in 24 minutes.
The Rockets are now 16-9 on the season while the win improved the Kings to 7-15.
