Dallas Mavericks power forward Dirk Nowitzki has been out with an illness as of late. Nowitzki returned to practice on Monday after missing Saturday’s win over the Milwaukee Bucks.

Nowitzki was asked about how he was feeling and he had an interesting answer. Dirk said he was feeling better Sunday till he watched the Dallas Cowboys play.

He verbalized what all Cowboys fans were feeling with the that answer. Unrelated to Nowitzki’s comment, Cowboys’ executive vice president Stephen Jones reassured everyone on KRLD-FM that the men in the locker room are fighting to win.

“Everybody in there is fighting their (expletive) off. People get very frustrated. Fans do, and rightfully so,” Jones said, via Jon Machota of the Dallas Morning News. “They expect more and especially a game like that. That was a tough pill to swallow, especially really feeling like we played as good of football we played all year in the first half. Then to let that slip away was a tough one. At the same time, we’re down there reminding everyone we sit here today no different than we did going into that game.”
