The Dallas Cowboys abandoned the run in the fourth quarter. It was a decision criticized by Cowboys fans who felt like they could’ve taken time of the clock by running the ball.

The Green Bay Packers were thrilled that the Cowboys abandoned the run. They said no one could stop it in recent weeks and by abandoning it they didn’t have to worry about it.

“The last four weeks, nobody could stop it — their zone (running) scheme. And they gave up on it. We’re just happy they did. We were, like, ‘OK, we’ll take it,’ ” Green Bay defensive lineman Ryan Pickett said after the game, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

He wasn’t the only one.

“That’s just who they are,” Packers defensive back Tramon Williams said. “They run the ball really well against everybody they play, but they just never stick with it.

“Definitely surprised they threw the ball there,” Williams said. “I’m glad they did. Obviously, it kept us in the game.”

Despite a pair of Packers defenders complimenting the Cowboys run game, you can expect them to not stick to it like usual.
