The Detroit Lions had a negative effect on the the Baltimore Ravens playoff chances on Monday night but not in the outcome of the game. We all saw Justin Tucker hit that 61-yard field goal to win the game, but we also saw Lions linebacker DeAndre Levy hit him low towards the end of the game. There was no flag thrown but Flacco was seen in some pain and has learned today that the hit caused a mild sprain of his MCL.

ESPN’s Adam Schefeter reported that Flacco’s mild MCL sprain has required some extra attention in the form of a knee brace but the injury is not expected to keep the quarterback out this Sunday.

This is great news for Ravens fans who were nervous about Flacco’s status for Sunday following the hit. He was able to finish the game against the Lions but really wasn’t that instrumental outside of one pass on the final drive of the game for the Baltimore offense. Still, having Flacco for a big game against the New England Patriots on Sunday is a boost for the Ravens, even if that boost will be wearing a knee brace.
