The New York Knicks don’t win often – at least not through the first quarter of the NBA season. So when a win is within grasp, you do everything you can to secure it.

But of course, these are the Knicks and even a win won’t come easily.

Case in point, with the Knicks nursing a three point lead over the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday evening, the team decided to milk what remaining seconds they could. However, with the shot clock set to expire the Knicks had to get a shot off – which they did. It was a miss and the Bucks somehow didn’t secure the rebound, allowing the Knicks to grab the board and wait to be fouled, giving them a chance to extend their lead.

But it didn’t work out that way.

Attempting to run more time off the fading clock, the Knicks passed the ball to Andrea Bargnani who was standing behind the three point line. He had two options – either pass the ball (safely) to a teammate or hold it and get fouled. He picked option three – shoot it.

Thankfully the blunder didn’t come back to haunt Bargnani or the Knicks as they were able to hold on the win, but somebody might need to run through a late game execution with these guys.
