Oakland Raiders coaches have ‘soured’ on QB Terrelle Pryor?
By Bryan Rose
For a few short weeks, Oakland Raiders quarterback Terrelle Pryor was the flavor of the week.
The Raiders were winning and Pryor was playing somewhat well (much of it due to his feet). Things couldn’t have been better, but that train quickly derailed as Pryor’s play dropped off significantly which was then followed by an injury.
The former Ohio State product remained sidelined for a few weeks, but did not return to the starting lineup when healthy. Questions arose as to why Pryor was suddenly benched and now according to Vic Tafur, it’s because the coaching staff has ‘soured’ on him:
"Why did Pryor’s chances at starter next year disappear because of 2 bad games?” >> coaches soured on him"
‘Backup’ Matt McGloin played well in Pryor’s absence, at least initially which likely attributed to the staff not putting Pryor back into the starting lineup but it appears there’s something more to the lack of playing time.
Pryor will likely finish out the remaining two weeks as a ‘wildcat’ quarterback for Oakland.
