In case you missed it, one of the more talked about hits of the 2013 NFL season happened this past weekend, and it actually happened to a punter.

In last weekend’s game between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pittsburgh’s Terence Garvin absolutely tattooed Cincinnati punter Kevin Huber on a special teams play, breaking the punter’s jaw and cracking a vertebrae in his neck:

The play was the topic of a lot of controversy throughout the week, and it even cost Garvin $25,000 of his hard-earned money.

Regardless of whether you think the hit was warranted or not, you can’t argue the fact that it was devastating.

This week, because of the injuries sustained, Huber underwent surgery to repair the broken jaw, and he seemed to be in great spirits afterwards, tweeting this picture of himself and even inserting a funny joke to go along with it:

You have to respect his sense of humor in this instance, because I can bet that most of us in his situation wouldn’t find things as funny.
