Ravens K Justin Tucker thinks a 70-yard field goal is possible

Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker won the game for his team with a 61-yard field goal. It comes on the heals of Denver Broncos kicker Matt Parter’s record breaking kick, just a few yards longer. Tucker thinks that record can be broken and that he could hit one from 70 yards.

“If I pulled out the 8-degree driver – on a day when I’m feeling real fresh – I could probably hit one from 70 yards,” Tucker told USA TODAY Sports. “I hit one from 70 yards in pregame in Detroit this past Monday night.”

70 yards might just be the starting point, he says he has kicked field goals from 79 yards practicing in Denver.

“In practice I’ve hit from 79 yards,” Tucker said. “That was in Denver before our opener in September. The weather was perfect; the field was good. With the altitude in the Rocky Mountains, the ball jumps off your foot.

“The reality is a situation like that will come up once in a blue moon. But if you have that club in your bag, you never know when you’re going to need to use it.”

Tucker has been one of the coolest kickers in the league. After winning the game for his team, a game where he scored every point for the Ravens, he gave a shout out to his fantasy owners.
