The rout may indeed be on in Cincinnati in the contest between the Bengals and the visiting Minnesota Vikings.

After what can maybe be described as a slow start in the first quarter, the Bengals turned it on at the end of the opening period when they pushed the lead to 14-7 and they haven’t let the foot off of the gas pedal since.

Just going to halftime, the scoreboard now reads 28-7 in favor of the nine-win Bengals.

The first half scoring was capped with this 16-yard touchdown pass from Andy Dalton to tight end Jermaine Gresham in the back of the end zone, pretty much all but killing the hopes for the Vikings on the day:

That was Dalton’s second scoring strike of the day, his first coming earlier to his favorite target in A.J. Green.

With the win today–which seems rather likely–the Bengals would grab their 10th win on the season and gain a ton of momentum as the playoff season approaches, given the dominant fashion in which they’re taking care of business today.
