Minnesota Vikings rookie wide receiver and return specialist Cordarrelle Patterson is helping these fans forget about Percy Harvin ever being traded. No they’re not in the race for the NFC North, but the future for this team is pretty bright.

In the second game of his NFL career against the Chicago Bears, Patterson returned a 105 yard kick off to start off that game. I’m a Bears fan myself and I even knew this kid was going to be special after that. In his first year, he has around 430 receiving yards with three touchdowns for the last place Minnesota Vikings.

I figured he would be used in the backfield once in awhile just like Harvin was when he was with the franchise. A great decision made by the coaching staff of this team and it paid off today despite the Vikings being blown out by the Cincinnati Bengals on the road.

Patterson picked up a sweep and took it to the house for a 35 yard touchdown. After taking it to the sidelines, Patterson kicked it into second gear as he was able to outrun five defenders who attempted to push him out of bounds.

It didn’t work that well.
