For all of the struggles the Buffalo Bills have had this year, their defensive line has been impressive.  They have a league leading 56 sacks after posting seven against the Miami Dolphins in a shellacking of the fish in Ralph Wilson Stadium.  The Bills have reportedly worked out a three year extension with defensive lineman Alan Branch to help keep this group together, according to Joe Buscaglia of WGR 550.

The financial details have not been released to this point, but Branch has been a nice player for them.  The Bills run a hybrid defensive scheme and he is a great fit as a defensive tackle in a four man front or defensive end in a three man front.  With players like Kyle Williams, Marcel Dareus and Mario Williams, they have a lot of talent up front and have had a ton of success getting the quarterback.

The 6-9 Bills finish their season on the road in Foxboro against the 11-4 New England Patriots, which is certainly not a welcoming game to finish the year, but the Bills could be upset minded hoping to finish off their season strong.  Nevertheless, it appears as though Branch is going to have a merry Christmas with this news and getting a deal done to stay with the Bills for another few years.
