On Monday, the NBA named Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade the Eastern Conference Player of the Week.

"The NBA announced today that Miami HEAT guard Dwyane Wade was named Eastern Conference Player of the Week for games played Monday, March 4, through Sunday, March 10. This marks the 45th time in franchise history a HEAT player has earned Player of the Week honors and the 16th time Wade has earned the honor, tying the most in team history.Wade led the HEAT to a perfect 4-0 record averaging 25.3 points, 5.0 assists, 4.3 rebounds and 3.50 steals while shooting 60.6 percent from the field and 88.2 percent from the foul line. He posted one double-double while leading the team in steals and minutes three times each and in points and assists once each. He scored at least 20 points in each contest and has now posted nine consecutive 20-point games. He also shot at least 50 percent from the field in all four games and has currently hit at least 50 percent of his field goal attempts in 10-straight games, one shy from tying his career-best streak (minimum 10 attempts). Additionally, he recorded at least one steal in each contest last week and now has a steal in a career-best 22 consecutive games, which also ties for the second-longest such streak in HEAT franchise history."

On the season, Wade is averaging 19.9 points, 4.9 assists and 4.8 rebounds per game.
