The Carolina Panthers will find themselves in the playoffs for the first time since the 2008 season and have a shot at winning the division in Week 17.

This Sunday they take on the Atlanta Falcons, who I figured would be joining the Panthers and Saints in the battle for the division. Both the Saints and Panthers take on the bottom two teams in the division with New Orleans hosting the 4-11 Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Carolina Panthers may be playing the Atlanta Falcons without veteran wide receiver Steve Smith who is trying to get himself healthy enough to play during the first round of the playoffs. With Smith out, Ted Ginn will start alongside Brandon LaFell.

Still a dangerous combination.

Running back Jonathan Stewart also missed practice today. Stewart as we all know made his 2013 debut against the Atlanta Falcons back in early November and hasn’t done much. He has a total of 180 rushing yards this year off 48 carries and is yet to find the end zone.
