Chicago Bears second year wide receiver Alshon Jeffery has had himself a huge year and was thought to be a lock when it came to the 2014 Pro Bowl. That didn’t happen.

This is the first time that I can remember this Chicago Bears team having two wide receivers who have over 1,000 yards receiving. This kid out of South Carolina has been a huge impact player for this passing offense this year and has made a whole bunch of highlight reel plays.

Running back Matt Forte and fellow receiver Brandon Marshall did make the team. In fact they were the only Bears who made the Pro Bowl. Last year this team had Brandon Marshall, Matt Forte, Charles Tillman, Tim Jennings, Julius Peppers and Henry Melton make the 2013 Pro Bowl roster.

It’s very disappointing that Jeffery missed out on this years Pro Bowl opportunity. He brought in 86 receptions for 1,341 receiving yards and seven touchdowns. Jeffery is ranked sixth in receiving yards in the league, second in the NFC.

But hey, I guess there’s always next year, right? Excellent season from Alshon Jeffery either way. I think it’ll get him a solid late 80’s rating in next years Madden video game.

Who do you think deserved a spot on the Pro Bowl roster?
