The internal drama surrounding the Chicago Bears’ quarterback controversy has made its way to local Windy City eateries.
Hoping to get a bit of promotion (and it worked) prior to the Bears hosting the Green Bay Packers in the winner-take-all Week 17 matchup, a Chicago restaurant (Pauline’s in Lincoln Park) is offering the Jay Cutler Pick-Six omelette special.
Of course, this all stems from head coach Marc Trestman opting to give Jay Cutler his starting job back (in Week 15) after the veteran signal caller missed a handful of games due to injury.
Normally, it wouldn’t have been such a difficult decision but backup Josh McCown had played well in Cutler’s absence and with a playoff birth at stake, questions arose as to who should be given the starting nod.
So far, the results have been inconclusive as Cutler, who regained his starting role in Week 15 has went 1-1 though his play specifically hasn’t been anything to write home about.
Hopefully for Chicago Bears fans, the Cutler special will only be served one time.
