The San Francisco 49ers are trying to stay alive in the hunt for the NFC West division title but need to pick up a victory and a Seattle Seahawks loss.

They’re currently taking on a division rival who are also looking to make it into the playoffs and need a victory today. It’s safe to say that today is full of nothing but must win games in the NFC West. Starting quarterback Colin Kaepernick and the 49ers are currently up by 10 points at the half on the Arizona Cardinals.

Kaepernick has completed 12 of 21 passing attempts for 171 yards and two touchdowns. He’s hit both Anquan Boldin and Vernon Davis for six points each. They could be preparing themselves to be matched up against the winner of the NFC North title game between the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers in the first round.

What really surprised me was Colin Kaepernick finding a tackle for a first down during the first half of the game. I played offensive guard and tackle on both sides of the line and had some great hands myself. But I was never able to be an eligible receiver because of safety reasons.

Here’s the play. Awesome pick up by Joe Staley.
