Ready for some motivation for your New Year’s resolution to exercise more?

In an effort to raise money and awareness for the Three Square Food Bank of Southern Navada, IT consultant Jayson Black has completed 26 marathons in 26 days.

Yes, you read that right.

Black explained the purpose behind his amazing feat of endurance to CNN:

"My hopes are that people will see and hear about this epic mission and open their eyes a little bit. Las Vegas isn’t all about the sparkling lights and big hotels and casinos. In the shadows and down the alleys that surround the Strip, people are hungry. You drive around any city in the United States, and there’s always someone somewhere holding a sign or digging through a garbage can for something to eat."

Black did not compete in any official races during the stretch, but he would rise every morning at 4:15 a.m. and hit the road for five to six hours of running. He admitted he suffered a shin injury and a stress fracture, but he said those injuries didn’t slow him down.

We applaud Black for his spectacular accomplishment. If you’re inspired by his remarkable run, you can learn more about the Three Square program here.
