Did Mike Ditka fall asleep during ESPN’s NFL Sunday Countdown?

Former Chicago Bears head coach and current studio analyst on ESPN, Mike Ditka, has a pretty intense schedule.

Because of this, I can’t imagine it’s very easy to get up in the wee hours of Sunday morning and head for the Bristol studios, only to go through an hour of makeup before finally starting the multi-hour show.

That’s likely why Ditka appeared to fall asleep during the live broadcast before being woken up by former NFL wide receiver and co-host, Keyshawn Johnson.

As the show was returning from a live report in New York, the camera focused back on the studio crew with Ditka seemingly nodding off. Johnson appeared to look over at his co-host for a few moments before realizing he was asleep (or at least falling asleep), giving him a gentle nudge before Ditka, startled, sprung back to life.

It’s not the first time Ditka needed assistance from Johnson as a few weeks back, Keyshawn had to inform Ditka the crew was back in live television as the former head coach played on his cell phone.

Have a feeling we’ll be seeing this on the next installment of ‘C’mon, man’.
