FOX’s Jay Glazer reports Monte Kiffin will not return to Dallas Cowboys

In what has become nearly an every year occurrence, the Dallas Cowboys missed a trip to the NFL Playoffs with a loss in the finale of the regular season. This time, it was a loss to the Philadelphia Eagles that will keep the from playing football in January.

And as always, the questions surround what Cowboys owner Jerry Jones will or will not do. More importantly, will he finally fire head coach Jason Garrett after yet another disappointing performance?

Well, if you ask FOX Sports’ NFL insider Jay Glazer, Garrett will be sticking around for another chance in 2014, but defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin could be getting the axe:

But then again, he could also see the possibility of pulling a fast one on Jerry and just walking away on his own:

Aside from the usual Tony Romo criticism, the Cowboys’ defense came under a lot of fire this year, especially back in the narrow loss to the Denver Broncos in which the team may have been able to pull off the upset, had that unit not let the Broncos score early September level, college-style points.
